• Founded in 1919 by Walter E. McGuire. The firm’s original focus is San Francisco real estate and insurance sales.
• Florian McGuire Moore takes the helm in 1958 upon the death of her father.
• In 1980, Florian is joined by her son Charles Moore. As president of the firm, Charles grows the business from $1.0 million in gross sales to over $1.3 billion in 2003.
• McGuire expands to the Marin market in 1998 with an office in Mill Valley.
• In 2000, McGuire opens an office in Burlingame that serves the Mid-Peninsula market. By the end of their third year, the office had achieved 16% market share in Hillsborough and Burlingame.
• In July 2003, the National Association of Realtors ranked McGuire 76th in the nation for gross sales. With just 190 sales associates, McGuire is the smallest company to be included in this ranking and leads the nation’s top 100 firms with the highest average sales volume per agent.
• In 2002 and 2003, McGuire lead the Bay Area with the highest average sales price according to the San Francisco Business Times.
